Time to catch up with a couple of new collections. The first set records a memorable journey along the Oklahoma and Texas panhandle sections of Route 66; the second comes from the same trip but focuses on the evocative landscapes of the Dust Bowl region.
My latest collection, Yellowstone Roadtrip, is taken from a short but unforgettable circuit from Salt Lake City to Yellowstone, taking in the Grand Tetons along the way. It is also the subject - and name - of my first book, a journal of this trip now available on Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr and other regional Amazon sites:
"Yellowstone Roadtrip provides a British perspective of the archetypal American experience. It is honest, informative, and funny. Above all though, it conveys the author’s deep love for this staggeringly beautiful part of the world."
PHOTO-AMERICA.NET GOES LIVE
If you like the photography here, take a look at my new online e-store / gallery, Photo America. This is a collection of my favourite on-the-road imagery from our many road trips over the years .with categories including Americana, Signage, Black & White and Abandoned. And best of all, they're all available to buy.
DEEP SOUTH COLLECTION
Just added a new set of photographs from our recent trip through the Deep South. We started in Atlanta, headed west through Montgomery, up to Memphis then followed the Mississippi south through Clarksdale, Vicksburg, Natchez and, Baton Rouge before finally arriving in New Orleans.
ON-THE-ROAD IN THE MID-WEST AND NORTH DAKOTA
Got a few minutes spare? You might enjoy these articles. The first covers a trip through Wisconsin and Minnesota, including a diversion to visit the home of a literary hero, Mike Perry. The seconds records a drive through the high plains of North Dakota, one of the most memorable places we've ever visited.
FOUR CORNERS - A JOURNEY THROUGH SOUTHWEST USA
Follow these links for three sets of photos from a whistlestop tour of the southwest: Utah Rocks focuses on the Beehive State's big five; Four Corners Plus looks at some of the other natural wonders of this region; while On The Road is, as its name suggests, a set of road photos.
Some while ago Kevin Green enhanced some of my photographs for black-and-white printing. This was initially just a personal project - for my own use - but the results were impressive enough to convince me they were worth sharing here too. While the originals were all mine, credit really has to go to Kev.
